Malaysia Flag: The Stripes of Unity and Crescent of Islam

Malaysia's national flag, known as the Jalur Gemilang (Stripes of Glory), was officially adopted on September 16, 1963. It consists of 14 red and white horizontal stripes, a blue canton with a yellow crescent, and a 14-point star.

The stripes and points of the star represent the 13 member states and the federal government. The blue canton symbolizes unity, the crescent signifies Islam, and the yellow denotes the royal color of the Malay rulers.

The flag embodies Malaysia’s political structure, cultural diversity, and Islamic heritage. It is proudly flown during National Day (August 31) and Malaysia Day (September 16).
